Kavalahti scout camp is a fairly typical Finnish scout camp with basic services. It is a former farm built on a slope, and that affects our life at the camp.
Kavalahti is fairly conveniently located only 70 minutes from Helsinki airport and the ports in Helsinki, 90 minutes from the port of Turku. The nearest railway station is Karjaa, one of the main stations on the Helsinki-Turku line. Unfortunately, track replacement work again this summer means that train travellers will have to use the rail replacement bus (track work bus) to get from Helsinki to Karjaa, but it is a working connection.
